چکیده
This paper describes a body weight reducing walking support system using pneumatic artificial muscles. The user of the walks while sitting on saddle. saddle supports upper and reduces load lower limbs. moves up down according to user's gait by force control muscles, always performs constant action walking. To confirm effect this motion walking, was constructed, floor reaction force, gait, muscle activity were measured through experiments. As result, it found that contributed reduction some activities. It also varying amount assist did not significantly affect gait.

Controlling the Walking Period of a Pneumatic Muscle Walker
In this paper, we investigate the limit cycle of a biped walker driven by pairs of pneumatic artificial muscles. We show, experimentally, that the period of the limit cycle changes when different control parameters are applied and estimate the relationship between the period and the parameters through trials. A step-by-step feedback controller is proposed to stabilize walking based on the estim...
متن کاملMathematical Model of Pneumatic Artificial Muscle Reinforced by Straight Fibers
This article describes a mathematical model of a pneumatic artificial muscle reinforced by straight fibers. The pneumatic artificial muscle is lightweight and high power. In addition, it is possible for it to emit exhaust into the atmosphere because the transmission medium of its energy is air, and it needs neither a tank nor maintenance like hydraulic equipment. In addition, safety to a person...
متن کاملEmpirical Modeling of Pneumatic Artificial Muscle
Pneumatic Artificial Muscle (PAM) yields natural muscle-like actuator with high force to weight ratio, soft and flexible structure, and adaptable compliance for rehabilitation and prosthetic appliances to the disabled. To obtain optimum design and usage, there is significance to understand mechanical behavior of the PAM. In this study, experimental results reveal empirical modeling for relation...
متن کاملPrecise Positioning of Pneumatic Artificial Muscle Systems
Pneumatic artificial muscles (PAMs) currently possess a high power-to-weight ratio, a high powerto-volume ratio, and a high degree of safety. They have therefore been applied to many power assist devices and positioning mechanisms such as bionic robots, welfare devices, and parallel manipulators. However, the significant nonlinear characteristics of PAM mechanisms limit their positioning accura...
متن کاملDevelopment and evaluation of a soft wearable weight support device for reducing muscle fatigue on shoulder
Compensating the weight of human limbs is important in reducing muscle fatigue experienced by manual laborers. In this study, a compact and lightweight soft wearable weight support device was developed and evaluated. The device supports gravitational force on the shoulder at any arm posture, although there are some limitations in its assistive performance. The device actuator consists of a cam-...
